The average interest rate return for a bank account in Florida was the third-highest in the nation, according to a study by Market Rates Insight. The San Anselmo, Calif.-based company reported on its website that the average deposit rate in Florida in the third quarter was 0.6 percent. That trailed only Iowa at 0.8 percent and Louisiana at 0.62 percent. The national average interest rate return was 0.58 percent.
